The Cancer Specialist Library (CSL) is one of 19 specialist libraries
in development as part of the National
electronic Library for Health (NeLH). Information will be organised
primarily for health professionals but we will ensure that it will
be accessible to patients, their families and carers by supporting
the work of NHS Direct Online.
A large number of organisations and groups are already preparing
and disseminating cancer information as well as the vast collections
of NHS resources and guidelines that exist. It is not our intention
to duplicate what has already been done, rather provide a framework
and standardised formats for users so that they can find information
easily.
This eCommunity web site is designed to build up a community of
users and interested individuals who will help us with developing
a really useful cancer resource. Discussion rooms and document
sharing areas are secure and will only be accessible to those involved
with the project by means of a log-in username and password.
